چکیده

Sodium aluminosilicate scaling in evaporators during alkali recovery is often associated with the concentration of aluminum and silicon in black liquor. The scaling problems are widespread during the utilization of nonwood raw materials. This study established a fast, reliable, and precise method to determine the aluminum concentration in bamboo black liquor by inductively coupled plasma-atomic emission spectrometry (ICP-AES). Prior to ICP-AES measurements, black liquor samples were digested in an automatic electric heating assisted digestion system. After optimizing the digestion, ICP-AES testing showed that the recovery of the element was 96.2% to 99.9% and the relative standard deviation (RSD) was 0.07% to 0.52%. Additionally, comparative data for the concentration of analytes was obtained by flame atomic absorption spectrometry (FAAS). This technique will be useful for assessing the scaling properties of black liquor in the alkali recovery phase.

Silica Removal using Aluminium Sulphate and Sodium Aluminate during the Bamboo Cooking Process

The desilication effects of aluminium sulphate and sodium aluminate on kraft bamboo pulp during the cooking process were investigated in this study. Furthermore, the residual aluminium ion concentration in the resulting black liquor was measured by inductively coupled plasma atomic emission spectrometry (ICP-AES) to evaluate the scaling properties of black liquor during the evaporation process....

Multielement determination and speciation of major-to-trace elements in black tea leaves by ICP-AES and ICP-MS with the aid of size exclusion chromatography.

A multielement determination of major-to-trace elements in black tea leaves and their tea infusions was carried out by ICP-AES (inductively coupled plasma atomic emission spectrometry) and ICP-MS (inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry). Tea infusions were prepared as usual tea beverage by brewing black tea leaves in boiling water for 5 min. About 40 elements in tea leaves and tea infusio...

Study on the Dynamic Viscoelasticity of Bamboo Kraft Black Liquor

The dynamic viscoelasticity of bamboo kraft pulping black liquor under various temperatures (ranging from 50 to 80 °C) and solids concentrations (60 to 80 wt.%) was studied. Rotational rheometer analysis data indicated that the viscoelastic motion law with a high solids concentration in black liquor was in accordance with the Kelvin model, and black liquor with a medium concentration conformed ...

The simultaneous determination of calcium, aluminum and magnesium in milk through ICP-AES

Analysis of Kemps and Land O’Lakes brand 2% milk was performed to detect aluminum, magnesium and calcium levels. ICP-AES was utilized because of its quick run time and ability to detect all three elements simultaneously. Mg and Ca levels were found to be well below expected values and Al was in too small a concentration to detect using this method. A possibility for the low results was that the...

Determination of phosphorus in fertilizers by inductively coupled plasma atomic emission spectrometry.

An inductively coupled plasma atomic emission spectrometry (ICP-AES) method was developed for the determination of phosphorus in fertilizers. Total phosphorus, direct extraction available phosphorus (EDTA), and water-soluble phosphorus, reported as phosphorus pentoxide (P205), in 15 Magruder check fertilizers were measured by ICP-AES, and the results were compared with those obtained by the AOA...
